The latest news from the bluegrass state.
So six games in, and we've taken 15 points from the possible 18 available. We're top of the table and even though there is a lot of football left to be played, we're seeing a growing positivity and collective team spirit among the team.
Mesut Özil has provided assists and flair and seems to have given the entire team a boost, and none other than Aaron Ramsey has continued the rise to the form of his young (remember that) career.
Now, some people on twitter say that they've been behind Ramsey 100%, and as one of those that has been a big fan of Ramsey, I don't quite understand the infighting amongst us Arsenal fans on the subject. He's fantastic right now, but he was always doing good things - even in his dark days last season. He was only a pass a beat behind the right time, and a bit of confidence away from being where he is today. My only request is that we look at Aaron Ramsey as a lesson. If you want to slate a player after a performance, thats fine - but what good does that do? Do you think that builds their confidence? Do you think that will help them do a better job on the pitch for the club you support if you tell him he's shit? Players remember this type of behavior from the fans, especially when it's time to renew a contract, and I'm sure they'd prefer to be in a place where they feel they're appreciated.
Same goes for Nicklas Bendtner for me - as long as he's wearing a cannon on his shirt, we should support him. If he wants to work hard for the club and be a positive, as far as I'm concerned, he's still an Arsenal player.
What is fantastically exciting to me, though, is the fact that we're still without some of our highest rated players in Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski, and Theo Walcott. Rosicky and Diaby are still out injured - Vermaelen, Arteta have only just returned to the squad but both of them are going to take some time to get back into form and break into the in form pairing in back of Koscielny and Mertesacker, and midfield pairing of Ramsey and Flamini, respectively. We are also yet to see the best of Jack Wilshere after his return from injury and surgery over the summer. If he manages to recapture some of his form from two years ago, we'll be in for quite the selection dilemma.
Now, I know, I know... Glass houses, and all of that - but goodness. United now find themselves in 12th position in the league and are fumbling. Reports in The Mirror say that Sir Alex's replacement is convinced he can land Cesc Fabregas in the winter window, despite the fact that he had three bids turned away, and the player came out and said he had no interest in joining Manchester United. Normally I don't care what other teams are doing, but I really find United's predicament funny, after them slating us and our manager for years.
Now as for Kentucky news - shirts are going to be picked up this Friday, and will be available for pick up this Sunday for the match against West Brom in the Premier League! We'll be hoping for a fantastic turn out like we've been getting at Molly Malone's - especially with all of the new faces we've been getting. Exciting things to come for Arsenal Kentucky this season!
Arsenal Kentucky also managed to get some posters all over the campuses of the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University this week! We're going to be putting some up at University of Louisville and Bellermine University sometime very soon! Be on the look out and if you see one, make sure you take a picture and tag us in it!
Well, thats all I've got for now - stay tuned guys and up the Arsenal!
